What is the KoolerCap made of and is it food safe?

The Koolercap is made from Nitrile Butadiene (NBR) in a closed cell foam. Nitrile butadiene is very food safe and is used with food and water based products throughout the world.

The side of my KoolerCap gets wet.  Is it absorbing water?

​

No, your KoolerCap is not absorbing water.  Think of your Koolercap as being made from tiny bubbles.  When a bubble is cut, the remaining core will get wet but the water won't penetrate past that bubble's skin.  Simply air dry or wipe dry the edge of your KoolerCap.

How do I clean my KoolerCap?

​

Treat your KoolerCap like the inside of your cooler.  Clean it with a mild solution of soap, water and bleach, then wipe or air dry.

What is the best way to store my KoolerCap?

​

After cleaning and drying your KoolerCap, place your KoolerCap on it's edge, diagonally across the bottom of your cooler.  Then, get a small plastic water bottle or something similar to slightly prop open the cooler lid, allowing air circulation.

What's the best way to cut my KoolerCap?

​

Only use a good pair of scissors to cut your KoolerCap - and take your time! Scissors produce the smoothest surface after cutting.  Blades or knives will snag on your KoolerCap.  While that won't affect the way it works, it will sure look a lot better!  For additional information please see: How To Trim Your KoolerCap
